This is another riddle poem that ended up coming out about a single relationship, however, I realized that it fit many. Abandonment is a hard thing. Don't ever be the one to administer it. You don't know what it's doing to the person on the other side..
I stab at your heart and whisper in your ears. The color I wear is black.
I smell like loneliness and carry myself like solitude waiting for vulnerable moments to attack.
Like the decrepit house everyone avoids, people young and old.
Like a tradition losing it's worth every time it's left untold.
Like a village known as a ghost town because all it's people have gone.
Like a child growing up and leaving behind her crayons.
I desert you in my dust trail, leave you to focus on your wrongs.
I lead you to believe you've got nowhere you belong.
I make you think you're worthless, rejected, misunderstood.
I push you away like no one you love ever should.
I sugar coat nothing. I simply up and disappear.
My anger and coldness towards you is nothing more than sincere.
My name is Abandonment. What you see is what you get.
Remember the way I make you feel. Don't allow anything to let you forget.
